Changing the
Way You Speak Takes Time, Practice, and Some Personalized Advice
You can't learn to play the piano just by
studying the notes. And you can't learn how to speak well by studying a
book. You've go to put in some effort.
That's why we want to encourage you to become
involved in activities everyday that help you remember your goals- so you can
slowly but surely see great changes in the way that you speak English.
Your weekly assignments are designed to take 10
to 15 minutes a day. They will help you remain focused on your overall
goal.
Weekly Assignments may include things such as...
- Recording short samples of your speech each
week into an mp3 file and sending them to us for review and feedback.
- Working on specific sounds and intonation
patterns.
- Reviewing our online videos.
- Watching DVD's or listening to radio or
podcasts and imitating the speakers.
- Writing down words and phrases that you use
everyday and working on their sounds and intonation.
- Keeping an Awareness Journal of things that
you are learning and using in your everyday life.
- Trying out what you've learned in your
everyday speech.
Remember, this is not a graded class so how
much you choose to do is entirely up to you. But we can tell you the more you
get involved, the faster you'll see changes in your speaking.
